Rhyme!

Understanding rhyme is a crucial step in developing and cementing Phonological (sound) Awareness. Researchers agree that PA skills lead to better reading and writing later on. Knowing that words are made up of sounds and that those sounds combine to make words is the foundation of literacy 📚 My favourite way to work on rhyme is by singing songs and nursery rhymes! 1. It's fun and engaging. 2. Rhythm and music often helps us to remember things. 3. There is no right or wrong way to do it (you can even make up a song as you go along). 4. Repetition is great for language learning too! So dance like nobody is watching💃 and SING like nobody is listening 🎤
