Hi! I'm Stacie and I have been practising Speech Pathology in private practice since 2015.
I started my career working in schools, which has been a passion of mine for some time and I continue to see students on a regular basis. I currently work from rooms at Footsense Podiatry, a well established and friendly practice in Dianella where my husband practices as a Podiatrist.
When not mixing with all things speech and language, I love the fun and challenges our two young daughters - they definitely keep us on our toes! Aside from family, I enjoy catching up with friends, sport, food, taking a break in the country and quiz nights!
My philosophy and mission through Unique Speech sums up my personal views, outlook and professional stance. To me, every person is a unique individual, deserving of care and services tailored to their own beliefs, values and situation.
My Areas of Practice
I have experience in many areas of Speech, Language and Literacy including:
Early intervention language development
Developmental Language Disorder (previously Specific Language Impairment)
Speech sound disorders, including Childhood Apraxia of Speech
School-aged literacy difficulties
Stuttering/fluency across the ages
Swallowing disorders in adults
To provide a high standard of client-centred Speech Pathology intervention. I always consider family goals and priorities and work within the parameters of Evidence Based Practice. This incorporates current evidence, expertise and client values into decision making and therapy intervention. My mission is to make therapy as natural as possible in the therapy environment and easily replicable at home.
Each individual has a contribution to make.
Every person learns differently and should be given the opportunity to do so.
Hard work achieves results.
Everyone is Unique.
